Although we like escape rooms, no, we aren’t one. Unlike in an escape room where you’re dedicated to one room until you solve a mystery or puzzle to get yourself out, at MISH MASH, you’ll move from room to room in our challenge room facility, with a new and exciting challenge behind each door. If you’ve had enough of one challenge, you can move on to the next! This is what makes MISH MASH a great alternative to traditional escape rooms and is fun for those people who are not escape room fans.
A mix of ages is actually the perfect team to beat MISH MASH. Some of your team will know the answers for some of the games, some of your team has played similar games and mixed abilities means everyones strengths come together to be successful. It is also why MISH MASH is such a good team building activity. The real secret? Actually taking and communicating with each other for the win.
MISH MASH is different in so many amazing ways! MISH MASH is full of immersive themed environments. The creators came from a theater, magic and haunted house background so the setting is important to us. It features actual props and sets you can feel and touch, not just digital screens, plain black rooms or copies of arcade games. The games change each time you enter the room, so you may get the same game but different clues or an entirely different game altogether. MISH MASH knows how many people are in your group and makes sure that everyone participates. All of the games are unique and one of a kind, not a mass produced game that you see over and over again. MISH MASH has an actual lounge like event space and party room meant for adults, not a side room with folding tables.
Everyone! Although we recommend that everyone is older than the age of twelve so that they get as much as possible out of their experience. No children under 10 will be allowed to play. Children 12 and under must have an adult play with them.
We recommend age 12 and up because some of our logic challenges might be a tad too difficult, and some of the physical challenges might not be suitable if they’re a very small child. Children under the age of 10 will NOT be permitted for safety reasons. Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
YES! Although our MOVE challenges are active, you don’t need to be an athlete to complete them. Plus, if you don’t feel comfortable in one of the rooms, you can easily move on to the next.
Each booking is a minimum of 75 minutes but you can choose to extend while at MISH MASH based upon availability. If you’re competitive like we are, you’ll want to stay as long as you can to complete all the rooms.
Yes and no – you will be challenged in a variety of ways while at MISH MASH, but you and your team have the option of making each challenge easy, medium, or hard. So really, it’s up to you. You will FAIL, a lot. But failing can be fun and we think of it as First Attempt In Learning.
Challenge rooms are interactive entertainment spaces that feature many short themed adventures to try rather than a single long story line like a traditional escape room. It is a newer form of social gaming or live action gaming where you get to actually be inside of the game in real life.
Some of the challenges are physical, some are logic based, some are skill based and some of the floors are lava. Most of the rooms are a combination of those things. All of the rooms require teamwork. Our games know how many people are in your group and everyone will have to participate in order to beat them.
If you just want to try a few of the rooms or are short on time, 75 minutes is a great sampler.
If you actually want to try all the rooms and beat some of them? 2 hours is the way to go.
You want to try to beat them all? Then 3 hours is what yo will need in order to try and beat every room. Especially on the harder levels.

We are located at Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, Illinois, a perfect spot for those looking for an exciting Escape Room in Aurora. You can find us on the upper level, center court, directly across from JC Penny.
We are open 7 days a week during regular mall hours. We take our last group at the time the mall closes, but don’t worry, you will still get to play for your full time.
Monday through Thursday 10am until 8pm
Friday and Saturday 10am until 9pm
Sunday 11am-6pm
MISH MASH has 18 rooms. Some of the rooms have multiple experiences in the same room.

Everything we can!
Guests will find hand sanitizer stations throughout our facilities and our staff fully sanitize each challenge room at least once every hour to ensure the health and safety of our guests.
Not if you really care about your team and others visiting MISH MASH! If you’re sick, please stay at home to keep others healthy. You’ll have more fun when you’re 100% healthy anyway.
If for any reason you have to cancel your adventure with us due to sickness, we will be more than happy to issue you a credit so you can re-book.
